Registration is NOW open for the 5-week, accelerated summer session, May 18 – June 23, 2013.

Those who demonstrate mastery by completing this 50 hour course will earn 5 PLUs and satisfy the State of Georgia HB671 certification requirement to have a course in the Identification and Education of Exceptional Children as described by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission(PSC).

Registration for Summer 2013 will open May 11th

The next online session of Introduction to Exceptional Children is the Summer 2013 Session, May 18 – June 23, 2013. Participants will be able to complete the course and documentation will be provided in time to submit to the PSC before their June 30th application deadline. Online registration begins at http://course.plucredits.com/ on May 11, 2013. The total cost is $300 (there is no textbook). All references are provided or linked-to, free online. Since registration has not begun yet, there are openings still available.

This course is taught completely online, over 5 weeks in the summer. The summer 5-week session is more accelerated than the 10-week sessions offered during the regular school year. You will need to devote at least 10 hours a week to complete assignments. Readings and assignments are posted each Saturday. Then, each week’s assignments must be submitted online by midnight on Sunday, one week after receiving them.

Those who demonstrate mastery by completing this 50 hour course will also satisfy the State of Georgia HB671 certification requirement to have a course in the Identification and Education of Exceptional Children as described by the Georgia Professional Standards Commission(PSC). You may also want to check with nearby school systems. Many offer the course, face-to-face in the summer and are usually less expensive.
