Dr. Thrasher earned her B.A. in History from the University of Georgia, M.Ed. in Special Education from Georgia State University, Ed.S. in Instructional Supervision from Gallaudet University in Washington, DC and her Ed.D in Educational Leadership from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.
Dr. Thrasher has had an extensive career in K-12 education. She was named Teacher of the Year in the southeast in 1984 and has twenty years of public school administrative experience as a principal, district special education director and district director of professional learning.
Her areas of interest include instructional improvement, on-line learning, women in leadership and qualitative research methods.
Recently she retired to care for her 93-year-old mother and for her adult, disabled daughter. However, she continues to teach on-line and in the summer for school systems in the southeastern United States.
